Aloka, officially registered and started business back in November 2010 which is now 13 years, however those behind the scene and running the show have been in the business for a much longer period of time. Aloka was initially focused on interiors when it started out and we used to do home refurbishments, steel fabrication, aluminium fixtures, gardens and window blinds, then one project after another we soon found our clients asking for sun control window film. We imported a few rolls of sun control or solar control window film for some of our on going projects and had great end results. Besides this, some of our customers pointed out that it had cost them a fraction of what they had budgeted for with some other company installing films, and that’s how we suddenly found ourselves in the window film or window tint business as its commonly known. Soon, many were calling us about window film, and so from there on, there was no turning back, our focus completely shifted to sun control and solar shatterproof window film. Within a short period of time, we decided to get additional brands on board as there was potential to specialize in this particular field. We wanted to be different and not just some other window film company, so we did our
homework, dug deep and researched as to who the top performing brands were worldwide and decided to work with them. The rest, we could say is history, our lineup has grown to include some of the most popular top performing films available in the world. The window films and shatterproof safety films we deal in are top performers in the European, Middle Eastern and American markets. Without realizing it, we had also broken the monopoly held by a few companies that had an iron grip over the window film industry in Sri Lanka. There was this popular belief that one particular brand was the No. 1 film in the world and that no other brand could match its standards or performance. We knew for a fact that this was misleading information and completely incorrect. As far as we know, no single brand of window film can lay claim to that status as there are hundreds of products out there and every single product has its own different capabilities, performance standards and durability.
